"Democracy was and is not a matter of course. Facilitating young people's access to politics and democracy, and in the best case scenario even inspiring them, is an important task that I am happy to support with deep conviction."
As press officer, Simon Schütz is responsible for media relations and communications for the Youth Parliament Initiative. He sees the opportunity for young people to help shape politics themselves as an important and sustainable basis for the future of our democracy.
Simon has worked for the past six years as a political journalist in the capital city editorial department at BILD and has been press spokesman at the German Association of the Automotive Industry since January 2021. Previously, he worked as a research assistant to a member of parliament in the Bundestag, among other positions.Communication was not only the focus of his studies (M.A. Media and Political Communication), but also always his passion. Using the right words and tools to target messages effectively to the right audience is something he sees as an exciting challenge.
Simon has lived and worked in the U.S. for more than three years - transatlantic relations are a matter close to his heart.
