Jens Teutrine, MdB

Member of the advisory board

"I started getting involved in politics when I was 16. Since the political decisions of the present affect our future, the voice of young people must be heard more. I am committed to a policy that thinks in terms of decades rather than legislative periods."

Jens Teutrine is chairman of the Young People's Group within the FDP parliamentary group. His political involvement began with the call to establish a youth parliament in his hometown of Rheda-Wiedenbrück. After municipal work with the Young Liberals and the Liberal University Group, he was state chairman of the Young Liberals of NRW from 2018 to 2020. He was then elected federal chairman of the Young Liberals from August 2020 to November 2021.

Since May 2021, Jens Teutrine has been an elected member of the FDP federal executive committee. As the top candidate of the Young Liberals, he entered the 20th German Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia. Through his participation in two negotiating groups, he was able to significantly influence the topic of youth participation and, in particular, the strengthening of youth parliaments in the subsequent coalition negotiations.
